Consent Preliminary Order of Forfeiture as to Yvette Wang · Specific Property and Money Judgment

The consent preliminary order of forfeiture entered against defendant Yvette Wang (a/k/a "Yanping") in United States v. Yvette Wang, S4 23 Cr. 118 (AT). Fifteen pages, entered on the docket January 7, 2025 — the day after her criminal judgment.

Offenses and forfeiture authority

The order recites that on or about May 2, 2024 Wang was charged in a two-count Superseding Information, S4 23 Cr. 118 (AT):

• Count One: conspiracy to commit wire fraud, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371;
• Count Two: conspiracy to commit money laundering, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371.

The Information included a forfeiture allegation as to each count. As to Count One, it sought forfeiture under 18 U.S.C. § 981(a)(1)(C) and 28 U.S.C. § 2461(c) of any and all property, real and personal, constituting or derived from proceeds traceable to that offense. As to Count Two, it sought forfeiture under 18 U.S.C. § 982(a)(1) of any and all property, real and personal, involved in that offense or traceable to such property, including a sum of money in U.S. currency representing the amount of property involved.

Note

"Consent" means the terms of the order were agreed to by the defendant: under her plea agreement Wang agreed to forfeit $1.4 billion and agreed not to challenge any restitution amount at or below that figure.
